Biography
Anna Eshoo is an American politician who served as the U.S. Representative for California's 16th Congressional District from 1993 to 2025. A member of the Democratic Party, she represented a district encompassing parts of Silicon Valley, including cities such as Redwood City, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, and Palo Alto. Eshoo is of Assyrian and Armenian descent, making her the only Assyrian-American and the only Armenian-American woman to serve in Congress. In November 2023, she announced she would not seek re-election in 2024.
