Biography
Anthony G. Brown is an American politician and attorney currently serving as the 47th Attorney General of Maryland, a position he has held since January 3, 2023. He is the first African American to serve in this role in Maryland's history. Prior to his tenure as Attorney General, Brown represented Maryland's 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Before that, he served as Maryland's Lieutenant Governor from 2007 to 2015. Throughout his career, Brown has been a leading voice on equity and justice matters, advocating for reforms in criminal justice, gun safety, and environmental protection.
