Biography
Brian Michael Higgins, born on October 6, 1959, in Buffalo, New York, is an American politician who served as the U.S. Representative for New York's 26th congressional district from 2005 until his resignation in 2024. A member of the Democratic Party, Higgins represented a district that included Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and surrounding areas. He is married to Mary Hannon and has two children, John and Maeve.

During his tenure in Congress, Higgins served on several committees, including the House Committee on Ways and Means, where he was a member of the Subcommittees on Health, Trade, and Social Security. He was also a co-chair of the Northern Border Caucus and the bipartisan House Cancer Caucus.
In 2024, Higgins resigned from Congress to become president of Shea's Performing Arts Center.
