Biography
Chris Knapp is a fourth-generation Wyomingite and a dedicated public servant representing House District 53 in the Wyoming House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party, Knapp has been actively involved in state politics since his appointment in November 2020, following the passing of Representative Roy Edwards. He was sworn into office on December 4, 2020.
Prior to his legislative role, Knapp served as a Campbell County Commissioner from 2001 to 2012, where he focused on infrastructure development, public safety, and community well-being. As a small business owner in Gillette for over two decades, he has been deeply involved in the local economy.
Knapp is a founding member of the Wyoming Freedom Caucus, a group committed to conservative values such as limited government and individual liberty. He has been recognized as one of the most conservative members of the Wyoming House by CPAC’s Center for Legislative Accountability.
