Biography

Charles Marion "Chuck" Edwards, born on September 13, 1960, in Waynesville, North Carolina, is a Republican politician serving as the U.S. Representative for North Carolina's 11th Congressional District since January 3, 2023. Prior to his congressional tenure, Edwards served three terms in the North Carolina Senate, representing the 48th District from 2016 to 2023. He is recognized for his dedication to constituent services and his commitment to improving the lives of Western North Carolinians.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Graduated from West Henderson High School in 1978; studied business, accounting, and marketing at Blue Ridge Community College.

• Political Experience:

  • Appointed to the North Carolina Senate in August 2016 to fill the unexpired term of Senator Tom Apodaca; subsequently elected to full terms in 2016, 2018, and 2020.
  • Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2022, succeeding Madison Cawthorn.
