Biography
Ashley Hinson, born on June 27, 1983, in Des Moines, Iowa, is a Republican politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Iowa's 2nd Congressional District. She began her tenure in Congress on January 3, 2021, initially representing the 1st District before redistricting shifted her to the 2nd District. Prior to her congressional service, Hinson was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021, representing the 67th District. Before entering politics, she had a decade-long career as an award-winning journalist and news anchor at KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
