Biography

Philip Jay Hooper, born in 1993 in Berlin, Vermont, is a Democratic member of the Vermont House of Representatives, representing the Orange-Washington-Addison district. Elected in 2016, he has been re-elected in subsequent terms, serving his community with a focus on sustainable economic development, energy efficiency, and community organization.

Raised in a family of cheese-makers who founded the B-Corp certified Vermont Creamery in the early 1980s, Hooper has deep roots in Vermont's agricultural sector. He has actively participated in local farming activities, including working as a fill-in milker at his family's farm in Randolph.

During legislative sessions, Hooper hosts a radio show titled "The Heat of the House" on WCVR, providing insights into legislative proceedings and engaging with constituents.
