Biography
Jim Himes, born on July 5, 1966, in Lima, Peru, is an American politician and businessman serving as the U.S. Representative for Connecticut's 4th Congressional District since 2009. A member of the Democratic Party, Himes has been re-elected multiple times, most recently in 2024. He currently serves as the Ranking Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and is a member of the House Financial Services Committee.
Before his congressional career, Himes was Vice President at Goldman Sachs & Co., focusing on Latin American and telecommunications sectors. He later led the New York City branch of Enterprise Community Partners, a nonprofit dedicated to urban poverty alleviation and affordable housing.
Himes resides in Greenwich, Connecticut, with his wife, Mary, and their two daughters.
