Mike Kelly was born in Pittsburgh and raised in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he has lived for over 50 years. After graduating from Butler High School in 1966, he attended the University of Notre Dame on a football and academic scholarship. Following college, Kelly returned to Butler to work at his family's car dealership, Kelly Chevrolet-Cadillac, Inc., eventually taking ownership in the mid-1990s and expanding the business to include Hyundai and KIA franchises.
In 2010, Kelly was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Pennsylvania's 3rd Congressional District. Due to redistricting in 2019, he began serving the 16th Congressional District. Throughout his tenure, Kelly has been recognized for his straightforward approach and commitment to his constituents.
