Biography

Norma Judith Torres, born on April 4, 1965, in Escuintla, Guatemala, immigrated to the United States at the age of five. She became a U.S. citizen in 1992. Torres began her public service career as a 9-1-1 dispatcher for the Los Angeles Police Department, a role she held from 1990 to 2008. Her firsthand experience in emergency services inspired her to advocate for improved public safety measures and community services. She resides in Pomona, California, with her husband, Louis, and their three sons.
