Biography

Ronny Lynn Jackson, born on May 4, 1967, in Levelland, Texas, is an American physician, retired Navy officer, and politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Texas's 13th congressional district since January 3, 2021. A member of the Republican Party, his district encompasses the Texas Panhandle and parts of northeast Texas. Jackson's career spans over two decades in the U.S. Navy, where he held significant roles, including Physician to the President under Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump. In 2018, he was nominated by President Trump to serve as Secretary of Veterans Affairs but withdrew amid allegations of misconduct. After retiring from the Navy in December 2019, Jackson transitioned to politics, securing a seat in Congress in the 2020 election.
