Biography

Sheri Biggs, born on March 28, 1970, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, is a Republican politician representing South Carolina's 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Elected in 2024, she is the first woman to represent this district and only the second Republican woman from South Carolina to serve in Congress.

Before her political career, Biggs dedicated over three decades to healthcare, serving as an Intensive Care Unit Nurse, licensed nursing home administrator, and health services consultant. She is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. In addition to her medical career, Biggs holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard, where she has been recognized with the Aerial Achievement Medal for her role as medical crew director during multiple combat missions in support of Operation FREEDOM’S SENTINEL.

Biggs is married to William "Bill" Biggs, a businessman, and they have two children. The family resides in Anderson, South Carolina, where they are active members of Temple Baptist Church. Biggs also volunteers at the Dream Center and other community and veterans organizations.
