Biography
Adam Holmes is a Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 97th district, which includes all of Muskingum County and western Guernsey County. He was appointed to the House in February 2019, succeeding Brian Hill, and has since been re-elected, serving his fourth term as of July 2025.
Before his political career, Holmes served over 27 years in the United States Marine Corps, retiring as a Colonel in 2016. During his military tenure, he completed 40 combat missions supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom and accumulated over 3,000 flight hours in crisis response missions worldwide.
In addition to his military service, Holmes is the CEO of Frueh Enterprises, a mechanical and industrial contracting company based in Zanesville, Ohio, with a history spanning over 80 years.

Throughout his tenure, Holmes has focused on building trust and transparency in Ohio government, increasing healthcare access and affordability, supporting small businesses, and strengthening Ohio families.
In recognition of his advocacy for small businesses, Holmes received the Guardian of Small Business Award from the National Federation of Independent Business in October 2024.
Holmes resides in Nashport, Ohio, with his wife and two children. He is an active member of New Hope Lutheran Church.
