About
Biography
State Representative Bernie Willis is serving his second term in the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 74th House District, which includes Springfield and most of northern and western Clark County. Before entering politics, Willis had a distinguished 36-year career in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 2023 with the rank of colonel. His military service included flying F-16s and unmanned MQ-1 Predator drones, as well as serving as a federal law enforcement officer at the Springfield Air National Guard base. He also held a position in the acquisition enterprise at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. In addition to his military career, Willis has been active in the community as a Clark County Deputy Sheriff, a former board member of the Greater Springfield Partnership, and an elder at Fellowship Christian Church. He is also involved with the Miami Valley Military Affairs Association and serves as a board member of Veterans Empowered Through Motorsports in Columbus. Willis and his wife, Lynne, have been married for over 30 years and have three adult children: Shelby, Jon, and Noah.
