Biography
Casey Weinstein is a Democratic politician serving as the State Senator for Ohio's 28th Senate District, encompassing communities such as Akron, Hudson, Stow, and Tallmadge. Born on August 27, 1982, in New Mexico, he graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 2004. Weinstein served on active duty as Deputy Chief of Information Assurance at the Space & Missile Systems Center in Los Angeles and as Officer in Charge of Maintenance Support at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. He earned an MBA from The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business in 2007. Prior to his legislative career, Weinstein was elected to the Hudson City Council, serving from 2016 to 2019. He was first elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 2018, representing District 37, and later District 34, where he championed veterans, education, and renewable energy initiatives. In 2024, he was elected to the Ohio Senate, succeeding Vernon Sykes.

He was appointed by Governor DeWine in 2020 to serve on the state’s Holocaust and Genocide Memorial Education Commission.
