Biography
Larry Dean Arp Jr., born on July 7, 1966, in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 69 since 2013. Raised with values of sacrifice and service, influenced by his grandfather's World War II service, Arp pursued a career in civil engineering and public service. He is the president of Arp Engineering in Monroe, North Carolina, and is licensed as a professional and structural engineer in forty states.
In February 2025, Arp demonstrated heroism by rescuing a 77-year-old woman from a house fire in Richmond County, an act that garnered recognition from the United States House of Representatives.

- Co-Chair of the Joint Legislative Committee on Energy Policy and the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Capital Improvements.
- Member of the House Select Committee on Advancing Women in STEM and other committees.
Arp has been recognized for his contributions, including being named Legislator of the Year by the NC Values Coalition in 2021 and receiving the Defender of Public Safety award from the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association.
