Biography
Ed Perlmutter is an American lawyer and politician who served as the U.S. Representative for Colorado's 7th Congressional District from 2007 to 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, he represented the northern and western suburbs of the Denver metropolitan area. Prior to his tenure in Congress, Perlmutter served as a Colorado State Senator from 1995 to 2003. In January 2022, he announced he would not seek re-election in 2022.

Throughout his career, Perlmutter was recognized for his bipartisan approach and commitment to renewable energy and smart growth policies. He played a key role in modernizing the banking system, supporting aerospace development, and championing renewable energy technology.
