Biography

Glenn "GT" Thompson, born on July 27, 1959, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, is a lifelong resident of Howard Township. Before entering politics, he dedicated 28 years to healthcare as a therapist, rehabilitation services manager, and licensed nursing home administrator, focusing on individuals with life-altering conditions. An Eagle Scout and over 30-year veteran of the Juniata Valley Boy Scout Council, Thompson has served as Scoutmaster, Council executive board member, and Council President. In 2012, he received the National Distinguished Eagle Scout Award. He has also been a volunteer firefighter for more than three decades.

• Master of Education in Health Science and Therapeutic Recreation from Temple University, 1998

Political Experience

• Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Pennsylvania's 5th District in 2008; re-elected in subsequent terms
• Following redistricting, has represented Pennsylvania's 15th District since 2019
• Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture since 2023
• Senior member of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce
• Co-Chairman of the bipartisan Congressional Career and Technical Education Caucus
• Introduced and saw the passage of the Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, signed into law in 2018
• Recognized for his support of Pennsylvania agriculture, including induction into the Pennsylvania Livestock Hall of Fame
