Biography

Rudolph "Rudy" Chester Yakym III, born on February 24, 1984, in South Bend, Indiana, is a fourth-generation Hoosier and a member of the Republican Party. He represents Indiana's 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to his political career, Yakym held senior positions in various companies, including serving as Director of Growth Initiatives at Kem Krest, a logistics and supply chain organization. He also served as Finance Director for Congresswoman Jackie Walorski's campaign in 2011–2012. Yakym is a practicing Baptist and serves as the Head Usher at New Life Baptist Church in Osceola, Indiana. ,

Education and Political Experience

• Education:

  • Associate's degree in Business and Bachelor of Science in Finance and Business Administration from Indiana University South Bend.
  • Executive MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

• Political Experience:

  • Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Indiana's 2nd Congressional District in 2022, succeeding the late Congresswoman Jackie Walorski.
  • Appointed to the House Committee on Ways and Means in December 2024.
  • Served as Finance Director for Jackie Walorski's congressional campaign in 2011–2012.
  • Appointed by then-Governor Mike Pence to the Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission in 2015.

Yakym's legislative priorities include addressing inflation, enhancing border security, and supporting pro-growth tax and regulatory policies to benefit manufacturers, innovators, and job creators.
