Biography
William Richardson Timmons IV, born on April 30, 1984, in Greenville, South Carolina, is a Republican politician serving as the U.S. Representative for South Carolina's 4th Congressional District since 2019. His district encompasses the Upstate region, including Greenville and Spartanburg. Prior to his tenure in Congress, Timmons served in the South Carolina State Senate from 2016 to 2019.
Before entering politics, Timmons worked as an Assistant Solicitor in the Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office, focusing on prosecuting domestic violence cases. He also founded several small businesses, including a CrossFit gym and a yoga studio. In addition to his civilian career, Timmons serves as a Captain and Judge Advocate General officer in the South Carolina Air National Guard.
