Biography
Jackie Speier is an American politician and attorney who has dedicated over four decades to public service in California. Born on May 14, 1950, in San Francisco, she has held various significant positions, including serving as a U.S. Representative for California's 14th congressional district from 2008 to 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, Speier has been a steadfast advocate for women's rights, gun violence prevention, healthcare, LGBTQ+ rights, and the welfare of service members and veterans. In 2024, she returned to local politics by winning a seat on the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, representing District 1.
